The RUNWAY Magazine drama

L’s Youtube Channel > The RUNWAY Magazine drama

This is L and I have a message for the 2nd world.

In my last post I was talking about Mr. M’s ASSOCIATED SL Press group.

L quotes: ‘Mr. M’s strategy is too obvious. The ownership garantees the power over all members  in the group. In this way Mr. M. created an interesting exit-strategy in case his empire falls.  Imagine a famous magazine would critizise one of his matter. Mr. M only needs to push the button,  eject the member and send out a notice to brand the former member as liar.’

L posted a link to the official press-release about the RUNWAY Magazine drama. You will find the link
below.

Official press release about the RUNWAY drama:
http://www.thebosl.com/features/news/bosl-news/51-bosl-announcements/279-re-runway-magazine.html

How do you read this official press release and what strategy is implicated by Mr. M.?

L thinks:

As shown before, Mr. M. owns a group which is called ASSOCIATED SL Press. He does this  together with Mr. L who is also owner of his other groups. But who is this Mr. L? What do you think? He obviously isn’t as famous as Mr. M. but L asks himself  now why? As owner of the ASSOCIATED SL Press Group and all other groups of Mr. M., Mr. L. never
appears on the surface.

L thinks:

This is strange.

Back to the ASSOCIATED SL Press group and the RUNWAY-Magazine drama. In this group Mr. M. and Mr. L.  bring together all the persons needed to for building up opinions. If you take a closer look at the involved parties, you’ll see quite obviously who runs the discussion. Bloggers. Bloggers are a very uncontrolable factor because they are individuals. And individuals usually think on their own. That is why Mr. M. has to bundle them in a group which is under self-surveillance. A very good tool to pit them against eachother. Maybe they are aware of it or maybe not?

L thinks:

Why does Mr. M. offer to help out the RUNWAY Magazine?

Mr. M.’s strategy is following: Since the RUNWAY is connected to a drama and obviously it’s about money again -  all involved parties will take it as ’such an act of kindness’ Mr. M. is offering to save all the jobs and to rescue the good name of the brand.

Very social indeed!

But let’s take a closer look to the accusation made by the former CEO of the RUNWAY against Mr. M.

It says:
“Maggie Mahoney. just made a press release accusing BOSL to have taken advantage of the RUNWAY Staff  by quickly ‘moving’ to get the magazine.” – read it again, it says: by quickly ‘moving’.

L thinks:
Maggie Mahoney. is proabably right. Until the irregulaties in between the leadership of the RUNWAY Magazine are not solved with the own staff and no other CEO should then interfer in those matters. Even not Mr. M. As expert for Marketing & Advertising he should know about, how to take over another company with a clean cut.. and this one was quite dirty.

But how does Mr. M. now get out of there? Right, he will hand around the responsabilty to someone else in his network and with a closer look he will find someone, who will do him a favour and who probabably is involved into the matter of the RUNWAY. Clever Mr. M. and then it should be someone who knows about the facts and the organization of the the company.

This is the point where Mr. M. already won the whole game by manipulation.

Checkmate.

Mr. M. will get out of the whole matter with a white vest.  His ‘blogger-friend’ owns now all responsabilities and of course prepares the overtaking of the RUNWAY.

And this works like:

‘Maggie Mahoney resigned from RUNWAY and left it to her staff with full permissions to do as they pleased.  Therefore, Maggie Mahoney has no longer any rights over RUNWAY MAGAZINE nor logos and should not be heard  in any future decision making.’

Well, in case of success, Mr. M. will own a new company and even didn’t need to stain his vest nor pay the ‘blogger-friend’ for his so called ‘hard work’ of overtaking.

In case of failure, Mr. M. can deny everything and blame his ‘blogger-friend’ for the whole matter.  Resistance of the ‘blogger-friend’ in this case is hopeless. Mr. M. will kindly ask to hand over everthing. In case of complications, Mr. M. will relie on all things he has done to promote his ‘blogger-friend’ or just push the eject-button and brand the former member via all mediachannels as liar who wanted to harm  the community.

Game over.

sincerely,
L

What is it with this Mr. M.?

What is it with this Mr. M?

L took a closer look to this man’s profile in Second Life®. Mr. M is obviously a very famous person in Second Life®. You only need to open his profile and you will see what he all represents. The mass. Which is a good thing and good for business, isn’t it?

THE BEST OF SL MAGAZINE
THE BEST OF SL BOULEVARD
BOULEVARD MODEL AGENCY
MISS/MR VIRTUAL WORLD ORGANIZATION
BOSL ONLINE SHOPPING
THEBOSL.COM

But one of his group’s catched L’s full attention.

ASSOCIATED SL PRESS.
A group for all SL press you may wonder?

This group obviously unites all important Newspapers, Magazines, TV Networks, Radio stations and bloggers all coming together in one group! And who’s is the groupfounder? Right, Mr. M.

One second.. bloggers? Why bloggers?

L thinks: Bloggers are very hard to control but which blogger wouldn’t feel honored
to be invited in the most exclusive SL Press Group?

L thinks: It’s probably clever to observe them in a closed group, where competition is a hard matter and based on so called ‘friendships’.

Now L’s point is:
Why does Mr. M. need a group that tries incorporate all other pressvoices in SL since he already owns the best in Second Life®?

L thinks:
Mr. M’s strategy is too obvious. The ownership garantees the power over all members in the group. In this way Mr. M. created an interesting exit-strategy in case his empire falls. Imagine a famous magazine would critizise one of his matter. Mr. M only needs to push the button, eject the member and send out a notice to brand the former member as liar.

L thinks futher:

With this group he nearly can reach every news- and mediachannel in Second Life build up opinions, set trends, advertise his friends and close network. The simple customer or user who isn’t experienced enough in reflection of media will step into his trap. Owned.

Do you really want to give this man in Second Life so much power? Well played Mr. M. but we already had this in the late 30ies and mid 40ies.

Make this group more transparent and you win our credibility.

sincerely,
L

It takes 5 min to change the world.

You may wonder about how much time L invests per day into his blog and videochannel? Not more than 15 min. It takes around 20 clicks to publish a message worldwide and reach million of users. The videomessages L publishes are done in less than 5 min. L asks you: How much time so you spend per day in Second Life®?

Documentation is everything…

L’s Youtube Channel > Documentation is everything

We all know how it is when you go into a business talk. Some Media Moguls discovered the tool of voicing in Second Life® so, they don’t need to give you any written word you can relie on later in case they acted against the contract. Documentation is everything!

Someone gave L a good hint inworld how such situation can be avoided and even turnt against the big guys.

1. Prepare yourself when you go into a meeting. Every RL businessman does this. Check your agenda, make sure you know your goals but also think about alternatives. Make sure you log the written conversations. Always be polite and true to yourself. You are businessman. Always think positive about the person you’re about to make a business with.

2. Ask the person you make the business with to type instead of voicing and explain it’s your routine and way how to document your business contracts in Second Life® .

3. If the person insists to voice, then explain you will log the spoken conversation aswell. You don’t need to explain how you do this but that you do. For loggin voice conversations you can use any screencapture programs like FRAPS99 which records the sound (or any other tool). Make sure to test this before you go into a meeting.

4. In any case your business-deal broke you can relie on the voice-conversation, postproduce it with your typed infos and post it on youtube or another platform which can play sound. Don’t comment, make sure you don’t post any names to not violate the TOS of Second Life ®. See how people react when you share the link. Comments and judgements will come – you can be sure the collective mind will unleash its anger.

5. Since you are a businessman, creative and you know how to record sound – you will probably also be able to edit the soundfile and cut the conversation into 10 second parts. Take the best statements the person made and create a gesture in Second Life ®. Better use an existing gesturefile which has been created by someone else to not let you show as creator (check this is the file’s properties. A good blast is always a file from the libray the lindens gave you at hand.)

Upload the soundfiles, add the chatsubtitles and finish a nice freebie for everyone in Second Life ®. You can be sure this gesture will reach the right person.

sincerely,
L

Gucci, Vuitton, Chanel and Dior selling in SL?

Google Faces Louis Vuitton Trademark Case in Europe’s Highest Court
Read whole article.

Now L’s point is:

This british girl in SL™ is very clever or very dumb. Either she knows it will take a while until the Courts of Justice will decide and she can make a lot of L$ now.. or she just didn’t make her research about using trademarks.

Using original logos of high end brands will definitively bring her into discussion. L will observe how this will end up. But who knows, maybe we all didn’t know she is a certified reseller of the displayed RL brands? L will observe who will lead the opinions about this matter in Second Life ® . Who dares this experiment?

On air.

L’s Youtube Channel > On air.

The powerlesness of communication. The failure of media and the critical mass of communities who own the media channels to manipulate and predicting what is hype and what is out. We find them in Second Life ® and all related media. Don’t believe everything. If somone tells you to jump from the roof – will you? Or do your reflect about what intention the person may had to speak out those words? And further more… what if the person was maybe right?

L got active.

sincerely,
L
